Swinney discusses playing updates of Bryant, Baker

Dabo Swinney held his weekly press conference and updated the playing status of Clemson defensive end Austin Bryant and defensive back Adrian Baker.

"Austin [Bryant] will go with us," Swinney said. "He will make the trip. He looks pretty good and pretty pleased where he's at. We will have him with us."

Bryant had 35 tackles, two tackles for loss, four quarterback pressures, a fumble recovery, and 1.5 sacks in 13 games last season. In last season's Capital One Orange Bowl, Bryant came off the bench for the injured Shaq Lawson and had eight tackles including half a sack on 63 snaps.

"Adrian will not make the trip, but I'm really pleased with him," Swinney said. "He actually practiced all week on the scout team. He's taken every rep. We have to be ready to play so it's hard to just give guys reps, but we have to get him on that real football mode. So he's doing all the competitive work that we can get him, but he's taking every rep on the scout team so he can get his confidence. The breaking on the footballs, the plants, the cuts in that position is action type of stuff. That's what we are going to do with him all week, and we will probably travel with him next week."

Baker played in 12 games and had 13 tackles and two interceptions last season (FSU and SC). His crucial interception late in the first quarter in the red zone against Florida State turned the momentum of the contest towards the Tigers.
