Shafer on playing a game in Death Valley

by - Assoc. Editor -

Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer had some nice things to say about Clemson's Death Valley at the Tuesday media teleconference.

"The common thread is just a big crowd that gets loud. It’s a great thing and that’s why these kids

love to play at this level. For us going to Death Valley, I’ve never been there so I’m looking forward to it," said Shafer."

"It’s obviously one of the best venues in college football. I’ve always looked at it and said ‘man, I’d like to get there someday and see what it’s like.’ So it’ll be a great experience for our kids so we have to enjoy the moment and then focus in between the lines."

Shafer went on to say that his team has been practicing all week with crowd noise and music in practice to prepare for a raucous crowd.

"Yes, we are doing both of those things that you just mentioned. We’re just going to take it one play at a

time sequence by sequence."
