Senate votes YES to Clemson National title license plates

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson won their first National Championship in football since 1981 and Senator Harvey Peeler proposed a bill last Wednesday to celebrate with a custom National Championship license plate that would be available state-wide.

"I am a Clemson graduate, proud of what Coach Dabo Swinney and his team accomplished this season and want to provide the opportunity for all South Carolinians to show their pride," Peeler said in a statement according to WISTV.com.

The State senators just passed the proposal to sell the Clemson plates on Thursday. The final step is a vote in the S.C. House.

The plates would cost $70 plus any regular DMV fees and the profits would fund academic scholarships at Clemson.
