is out for Sunday's game against the New York Giants according to team officials.

Watkins suffered a calf injury during the first half of last week's game against the Miami Dolphins and had not practiced at all this week. Percy Harvin, Chris Hogan and Robert Woods will be the starters at wide receiver for the Bills.

This will the first game that Watkins will miss in his NFL career despite having several injuries last season.

Bills' star running back LeSean McCoy is also out with a hamstring injury.

Watkins had seven catches for 99 yards and a touchdown for the season and 65 catches for 982 yards and six touchdowns last year (started all 16 games). He was also rookie of the week three times during the season and had four games with more than 100 receiving yards.
