New York Jets coach Rex Ryan was able to visit Clemson and watch his son's first college football game against Georgia.
Some national media have criticized him for leaving New York on Saturday because of their team's 53 man cut down.
He told the Washingon Post about watching his son that “I think ‘played’ is not very accurate,” he joked. “I saw him stand there. But it was a great deal.” Ryan added that he “played Dad there for a day.”

Rex Ryan going to son's college game at Clemson? Good for him. He was not only HC who did that on Saturday.— Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) September 3, 2013
