Report: Two Clemson players meet with Dolphins |
Former Clemson linebacker
Stephone Anthony
Stephone Anthony Vic Beasley met with the Dolphins on Monday according to the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson. The Dolphins are doing their evaluations on Beasley in case he slips down to their first round pick at #14 overall. Anthony first wowed NFL brass and entered their minds after a stellar week at the Senior Bowl event in Mobile, Alabama. He followed that up impressing scouts at the 2015 NFL Combine. He ran an impressive 4.56 forty-yard dash at 243 pounds (best time by a true inside LB), had 23 bench press reps at 225 pounds, shown a 37 inch vertical jump with a 122-inch broad jump and was impressive with on-field drills during the weekend. There were several reports that Anthony impressed NFL general managers during the interview portion of the NFL Combine. Many had Anthony projected as a late-round pickup before the season ended. Now it appears that the NFL has a much higher grade on him and are evaluating him in the first few rounds. The Dolphins are in need of a true middle linebacker and have the #14 overall pick in the NFL Draft. They would certainly think about Anthony if he slides to them with their second-round draft pick if not earlier. Anthony had 206 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in his final two years at Clemson. For his career, he had 255 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 3 interceptions and 6 forced fumbles. Miami Dolphins had dinner with Stephone Anthony/LB/Clemson last night and are working him out today. #Dolphins hitting up those Clemson defensive players. Vic Beasley & Stephone Anthony
