Report: Jazz to guarantee rest of Booker's contract |
The Utah Jazz liked what they saw from
Trevor Booker
Trevor Booker The Jazz decided to guarantee the remainder of Booker's two-year contract with them according to the Salt Lake Tribune. Booker will make $4.8 million for the 2015-2016 season which is a contract year for him to be motivated for another possible free agent deal after the season. If the Jazz would have cut Booker this offseason, they would have only been out $250,000. Only three Jazz players will make more money than Booker for the 2015-2016 season - SF Gordon Hayward ($15 million), PF Derrick Favors ($12 million) and SG Alec Burks (9 million). In 79 games last season (5 starts), he averaged 7.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.5 blocks per game. Booker has been working hard on his three-pointers going 20 for 84 in his first season with the Jazz. In four previous seasons with the Wizards, he had made a total of one three-pointer (1 for 10).
