has agreed to a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears on Tuesday according to multiple reports. The deal will become official once Jenkins passes a team physical later today.

The signing of Jenkins is part of a defensive change for the Bears (31st in scoring defense) as they move towards a new 3-4 defense in 2015.

Jenkins suffered a torn ACL injury and missed his rookie season back in 2011, but rebounded to start 14 games in 2012 and had 25 tackles. In 2013 (five starts), he had two sacks and followed that up in 2014 (14 starts) with 28 tackles and no sacks. He was the #41st overall pick (2nd round) in the 2011 NFL draft.

He was named first-team All-ACC his senior season at Clemson with 51 tackles, 9 tackles for loss and 16 quarterback pressures.

Other players that Chicago has landed in Free Agency include safety Antrel Rolle, wide reciever Eddie Royal, offensive guard Vladimir Ducasse and linebacker Pernell McPhee.
