Auburn junior defensive back Stephen Roberts from Opelika, AL was arrested on charges of attempting to elude an officer and for possessing a firearm without a license on Wednesday night according to multiple reports.
Both charges are Class A misdemeanors in Alabama and carry a penalty of no more than one year in jail and up to a $6,000 fine. This is the fifth offseason arrest for Auburn with defensive back Stephen Roberts, defensive back Jeremiah Dinson, wide receiver Ryan Davis, defensive back Carlton Davis, and defensive end Bryon Cowart. Roberts had 26 tackles and three pass breakups last season in seven games and was expected to the starter at boundary safety in nickel packages against #2 Clemson. Auburn will host Clemson at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Labor Day weekend on Sept. 3 at 9 pm EST on ESPN.
