Clemson sophomore quarterback
Deshaun Watson is on the regional cover of the new Sports Illustrated magazine for Nov. 16th.
The Sports Illustrated cover says "B.Y.O.D that states Deshaun Watson + Dabo Swinney = Dominance in Death Valley." In the caption at the bottom right it states, "Watson and the 9-0 Tigers are the front-runners in the Heisman and national title chases, respectively." Watson will be the second Clemson athlete to make the cover of Sports Illustrated besides Perry Tuttle in 1982 according to Clemson SID Tim Bourret. Watson was 28-42 passing for 297 yards and 107 yards rushing in the hard-fought 23-13 victory over Florida State. The 107 rushing yards was a career-high for Watson and the most rushing yards for a quarterback since Tajh Boyd had 127 yards against Ohio State in the 40-35 Orange Bowl win. SI.com released its latest Heisman Watch list this week and Watson was ranked the #1 player in college football.
