Peake selected #241 overall in 2016 NFL Draft

Former Clemson wide receiver Charone Peake was drafted #241 overall by the New York Jets during the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft on Saturday night.

NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. had the following to say about the selection of Peake to the Jets.

"He was an elite athlete coming out of high school," Kiper said. "Injuries I thought stunned his growth in 2013 and 2014. He stayed healthy this past year with 50 catches. That was more than he had the previous four years. Five touchdown catches equaled the number he had the previous four years. "I thought third round earlier, and Todd (McShay) said I was crazy."

Peake had 50 receptions for 716 yards and five touchdowns this past season. For his collegiate career, he had 99 catches for 1172 yards and ten scores.
