5-star defensive tackle Trenton Thompson from Albany, GA has committed to Georgia at a ceremony at his high school. Clemson was in his top group for much of his recruitment but Georgia was the big favorite throughout.

Several recruiting services have Thompson as the nation's #1 overall player for 2015.

He had offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee, USC and many others.

In 2013, he had 83 tackles and 12 sacks. In 2012, he had 65 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 5 sacks.
