NFL.com ranks Gallman as a Top 10 CFB running back |
NFL.com has released its
Top 10 college running backs to watch in 2016 and Clemson standout running back Wayne Gallman was ranked #8 overall.
"Gallman turned in an impressive effort in helping to provide tempo and aggressiveness in the rushing attack for Clemson's run to the national championship game," NFL.com said. "Gallman runs with a reckless abandon -- it's as though every carry is his last -- and he certainly won't shy away from contact. Quarterback Deshaun Watson figures to take a step forward as a passer, but Clemson might ask Gallman to pick up more of the rushing slack that might have been reserved for Watson in the past. Gallman runs a little too upright and had a surprisingly low explosive-touch rate (6.58 percent of his touches were considered "explosive" -- receptions of 25 yards or more and rushes of 15 yards or more)." Gallman had 283 rushing attempts for 1527 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. He also showed his all-around offensive talents with 21 receptions for 213 yards and a score. For his career, he has 444 rushes for 2296 yards and seventeen rushing touchdowns. Clemson is 12-0 in his career when he rushes for at least 100 yards. The best back in college football. I have played against the best, but practice with the best everyday he a beast ?? https://t.co/SjvQb2RHOG Best one in the class https://t.co/Bm0i6ZqymS
