Former Clemson receiver Deandre "Nuk" Hopkins wowed Pro Bowl Coach and NFL Hall-of-Famer Michael Irvin during the week of practice leading up to the Pro Bowl.
"We don’t know what the ceiling is (Hopkins),” Irvin said via the Texans' official website. "You see the skillset, where he can catch footballs from anyplace in the world. There is no telling what the ceiling can be. He’ll be rewriting a lot of records in the NFL." Hopkins had 111 catches for 1,521 yards and 11 touchdowns and was named as a Pro-Bowl starter for the first time in his career (alternate last season). His 2015-2016 season was remarkable in a Texans' historical perspective as he had the third-most catches, fourth-most receiving yards and fourth most receiving touchdowns. He was also the first player in NFL history to have 100-yard receiving games with four different starting quarterback in a single season (Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallett, T.J. Yates and Brandon Weeden). "I would not be able to do it,” Irvin said about the Texans' instability at quarterback. "Whenever you brought in another quarterback, I played with a lot less confidence.
