NFC scout compares Williams to Demaryius Thomas

Clemson is headed back to the National Championship game for the second straight year and one of the elite playmakers that will get his first taste of action in the crucial final game is wide receiver Mike Williams.

NFL.com interviewed an NFL college scouting director and the scout compared Williams to Demaryius Thomas of the Denver Broncos and Alshon Jeffery of the Chicago Bears.

"He's a big, physical guy, but how fast is he? I think he's in the 4.5 range, which would be plenty fast enough," the director said. "And he had some drops this year, easy drops, but also made some incredible catches. And he was coming off the (neck) injury when the drops were a problem. He'll go in the first round and make some offense better."

Williams has 90 receptions for 1267 yards and ten touchdowns this season. For his career, he has 169 catches for 2633 yards and 20 scores.
