NCAA tournament projection for Clemson |
The Clemson basketball team (12-7, 5-2) have won five out of their last six ACC league games and put themselves squarely into the conversation for a future NCAA tournament bid.
The Tigers fell to #13 Virgina (14-4, 3-3 ACC) 69-62 in a highly contested battle on Tuesday night at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia. It is a tough place to play as the Cavaliers have won 14 in a row at home and have a 78% winning percentage at home the last ten years. One of the most impressive stats over the last three games is that Clemson has made 29 straight free throws and it has been a major contributor in their wins. ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi has Clemson as a bubble team as one of the first two out of his current NCAA field according to his latest projections. The next game for Clemson will be against Pittsburgh (15-3, 4-2 ACC) at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Wednesday, 1/27 at 7 pm on RSN. FIRST OUT: Seton Hall, Clemson, LSU, Vandy. NEXT OUT: St. Joe, Georgetown, Syracuse, Florida St. FOUR MORE: Stanford, Oregon St, Bama, BYU.
