Monte Lee updates injuries to Chris Williams and in the bullpen

Clemson head coach Monte Lee gave injury updates on reliever Brooks Crawford, reliever Ryan Miller and catcher Chris Williams after the exciting win against Coastal Carolina on Tuesday night.

"Brooks has been batting some illness for quite a while," Lee said. "We are hoping to get him back. He's been feeling better. Ryan Miller begins playing catch tomorrow so he will start his throwing program tomorrow. We are hoping we can get him back within the next couple of weeks because he is a huge part of our bullpen. With those two guys being down for a while for us, if we can get both of those guys back to full strength, whether it is Brooks this weekend and Ryan Miller maybe ACC tournament or regional we don't know. It's just going to depend on the progression of the throwing program."

Crawford is 4-0 this season with 1.53 ERA in 15 games while Miller has a 3.09 ERA in 11 games.

Lee also discussed the timeline for Williams who sat out the game on Tuesday evening.

"We got to get Chris Williams back. That is a huge bat for us," Lee said. "We sat him today because he was sore. He's really been trying to rehab hard and get his strength back in his shoulder and he's just really, really sore. We felt it was best to give him a rest and try to get him ready for NC State this weekend. "

"He'll be able to hit. We will be able to use him in a DH situation, but as far as throwing goes I think we will know more probably over the next week as far as with his throwing. The more we can get him out there to throw and hopefully he can build that strength up and the inflammation he has in his shoulder will less over the course of the week. We hope he will be able to catch by the ACC Tournament."
