CLEMSON in the NFL

Martavis Bryant ties NFL rookie record

by - Assoc. Editor -

Former Clemson wide receiver Martavis Bryant caught two more touchdowns in a Sunday night 43-23 win against the Ravens. He finished the game with 3 catches (five targets) for 44 yards and the two scores.

This impressive display has tied him with Eric Green's NFL record for most receiving touchdowns (5) in the first three games of a NFL career. Bryant also became the first Steeler rookie to catch a touchdown in three straight games since tight end Heath Miller in 2005 (4 in a row).

For the season, Bryant has 10 catches for 167 yards and five touchdowns. Bryant was drafted in the fourth round by the Steelers.

Since Bryant was inserted into the lineup the last three games, Ben Roethlisberger has been extremely impressive throwing 14 touchdowns and zero interceptions. The Steelers will next play the Jets in Week 10 action.

Four former Clemson Tigers (Jaron Brown, Bryant, Andre Ellington, Nuk Hopkins) had a touchdown catch Sunday in the NFL.
