isn’t getting too anxious or nervous about this year’s Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

Schaus was drafted following his senior season at Barron Collier in 2007 and again last June following his junior year at Clemson. After hitting .326 this season with the Tigers, the highest of his college career, the two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection expects to be picked again in this year’s draft.

In what round he’ll be selected or on what day of the three-day event that starts Monday isn’t of much concern to Schaus.

“I’m sure someone will pick me up somewhere,” Schaus said last week in a phone interview as Clemson prepared for the NCAA Regionals and what the Tigers hope is a return trip to the College World Series. “I’m just going to enjoy my last weeks of college and see what happens after that.”

The first two times the major leagues came calling, Schaus decided to stick with college ball. With his NCAA eligibility up, he won’t have to make the decision to go pro or stay in school this time.

“The only decision is to go (pro), so there’s not much pressure there,” Schaus said. “Being in college for four years has been a great experience. I’m happy I did it. It’s been the best four years of my life.”
