Louisville OLB predicts win if they stop Clemson's 1st possession |
Louisville senior outside linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin spoke with the media after Wednesday's practice and appears very confident for this weekend's match-up against Clemson in Death Valley.
"I just know that if we get the first stop in the game, we're going to win that game because we as a defense know that (by getting) the first three-and-out, we're in their heads already," Mauldin told the media. "We know that if we play with a confident defense, pretty much the game is ours." Mauldin also talked about playing against a hostile crowd at Death Valley. "We relish in playing the road games. We love crowds like that. It's why we come to college to play football for crowds like Clemson. We got a bit of a taste of it last week when we played against Syracuse, so it's not going to be too much of a challenge. We've just got to play our role." As a junior, Mauldin was named to the second team All-American Athletic Conference. During that season, he had 9.5 sacks and 12.0 tackles for loss. Pic: Lorenzo Mauldin
