K.J. McDaniels gets Slam Dunk contest invite

by - Assoc. Editor -

Former Clemson standout has turned down an invite to participate in the 2015 NBA Slam Dunk contest according to multiple reports.

McDaniels spoke to CBSSports.com earlier in the week and had the following to say about the Slam Dunk contest: "I've been asked to. I'm not sure yet because, like I said, I'm not a big trick dunker. I went between the legs a few times, or behind the back. But that was a long time ago when I had, like, extra bounce."

Some of the participants that might accept invites include Victor Oladipo, Mason Plumlee, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Andrew Wiggins.

The NBA dunk contest is scheduled as the final event of All-Star Saturday night at the Barclays Center in New York. The All-Star game will be the following day on Sunday, Feb 15.

McDaniels is averaging 9.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.4 blocks in 26 minutes of action this season.
