who has battled injuries over the last few years has been released by the Jets.

The Jets announced that they have released OLB Ricky Sapp from the practice squad, and resigned DB LeQuan Lewis to the squad to replace him.

It’s unfortunate to see Ricky Sapp go as he is a favorite amongst many fans, as well a guy that showed excellent potential. But, you know what they say, “You can’t make the club from the tub.” Sapp had difficulty staying on the field, as he suffered a high ankle sprain early in training camp. He unfortunately couldn’t get on the field, as those high ankle sprains are difficult to get past, and linger for weeks.
