Ford was injured Aug. 17 in a preseason game at Arizona and underwent surgery in September. He suffered a similar injury to his left foot in 2011 that forced him to miss six games, but he's never missed an entire season.

"I've never had to go through this," Ford said. "It's extremely tough. But I try to come around these guys whenever I can just so they can keep my spirits up and I stay in a good mood. Other than that, I just kind of stay off and just let them work. I just let them stay prepared and focused during the season."
