has a passion for all things soccer and was actually at the press conference for Mexican National Team coach Miguel Herrera at NRG Park on Wednesday with a Mexico national team soccer jersey on.

“I have always been interested in soccer,” DeAndre said according to CBS Houston. “I have actually always wanted to be a goalkeeper.” Hopkins would have been a decent goalie with his large hands, tremendous hand-eye coordination and work ethic.

Hopkins did a famous soccer celebration after a touchdown last season and was handed a unsportsmanlike penalty for his efforts.

“The celebration is called ‘The Dead Fish’,” Hopkins said after the game in September. “It’s highly known in soccer. A lot of soccer players do that after they score a goal. My soccer fans know what the celebration was.”

Mexico is facing rival Honduras on Wednesday, July 1 at NRG stadium.
