Herbstreit predicts Clemson will win National title

by - Assoc. Editor -

ESPN analyst and college football commentator Kirk Herbstreit was on ESPN's show and gave his predictions on the four teams that would make the 2016 college football playoff with Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, and his darkhorse TCU.

Herbstreit went on to say that he predicts that Clemson will win the national championship this upcoming season.

"I’m going to have Clemson, who I think’s going to go on to win the championship," Herbstreit said. "That has everything to do with one guy. I hate to put it all on him, but Deshaun Watson, to me, is just a freak."

Watson completed 333 of 491 passes for 4,104 yards and 35 touchdowns and also had 207 rushes for 1105 yards and 12 scores this past season. His 5,209 yards of total offense and his 47 total touchdowns were ACC records, and his rushing total was a record for a Clemson quarterback.

His 487 yards of total offense set a record for a National Championship game, and he is the first quarterback in FBS history to have at least 4,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in a single season.
