Atlanta Falcons' owner Arthur Blank said that he did not realize that Jarrett's house had burned down while talking to him after they selected Jarrett. He was told that Jarrett had lost all his clothes and most of his possessions in the fire. Blank told his staff that Jarrett was part of the family and go get him Atlanta gear for him to wear. "So grateful for all the congratulations and support shown! Everything happens for reason and according to God's will," Jarrett said on his facebook account. "So happy to be a Falcon and play for the home team. Wow." #Falcons DT Grady Jarrett's family home went up in flames as he waited to be drafted last night. Scary stuff. Story to come on @FOXSports. Half of the house burned down. Nobody was injured, but they lost all of Jarrett’s Clemson memorability. Nearly 50 family members were in attendance. Cause of fire is being investigated. They believe it was an electrical fire. Responders got to Jarrett's house 10 minutes after fire began, but by that time entire left side of the house had been engulfed in flames.

got good news Saturday afternoon when he was selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the first pick (137 overall) of the fifth round in the NFL Draft, but according to reports his family's house burned down Friday night.
