Gamecock coach denies resigning, preparing for a fight with Clemson |
South Carolina head coach Shawn Elliott denied bogus internet reports (sportingnews.com, etc) on Saturday night that he had resigned after a humiliating 23-22 loss to the Citadel on Saturday afternoon.
Eliott tweeted the following, "Quitting??? You've got to be kidding me....Get yourselves ready for one hell of a fight next week. I'll never quit on anything or anyone. Don't you worry I'll be standing at the gate next week to welcome them to Williams Brice and our team will be there as well!!" #nobackdown It was the first win for Citadel over a FBS team in twenty-three years when they beat Army 15-14 in 1992. The Gamecocks are 3-8 on the season and will miss out on postseason play. Quitting??? You've got to be kidding me....Get yourselves ready for one hell of a fight next week. I'll never quit on anything or anyone. Don't you worry I'll be standing at the gate next week to welcome them to Williams Brice and our team will be there as well!! #nobackdown
