|GHS, Coca-Cola become premiere partners of Clemson athletics|
CLEMSON, S.C. (Jan. 3, 2014) – Clemson Athletics and its multimedia rights holder, Clemson Tiger Sports Properties, announced today Greenville Health System (GHS) and Coca-Cola as Premier Partners for Clemson Athletics.
The involvement of GHS with athletics comes on the heels of it being named Clemson’s official research hospital, solidifying an even deeper connection between the university and one of the largest healthcare systems in the Southeast. Coca-Cola and Clemson continue a long-standing relationship as Coke holds the pouring rights on campus and has been strongly associated with the Tigers for many years.
“Both Greenville Health System and Coca-Cola are charting new territory with us, aligning with athletics at a significant level over the long term,” said Clemson Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich. “These organizations should be recognized for their outstanding commitment to our programs, fans and student-athletes and we look forward to extending them an even greater presence through the Premier Partnership program.”
As multi-year Premier Partners, GHS and Coca-Cola receive premium signage in all athletic venues and exposure on the statewide radio network; serve as presenting sponsors of the official athletics website (ClemsonTigers.com); benefit through print visibility and receive exclusive opportunities through all major sports.
Notable branding for GHS includes exposure on football coaches’ headsets and basketball team benches. Coke receives signage on the basketball goal pads in Littlejohn Coliseum and prominent video board exposure in Memorial Stadium.
“Greenville Health System is proud to have such a strong relationship with Clemson University,” said GHS President and CEO Mike Riordan. “In 2013, we named Clemson our primary research collaborator and administrator. Now, we are excited to expand our relationship with Clemson athletics. Clemson has the same commitment to excellence as Greenville Health System. Together, we are transforming medicine while sharing information about our innovative partnership through Clemson athletics, which has a rich history that brings people together.”
“We have always been Clemson Tiger fans and are thrilled to continue our official partnership with the University,” said Heather Hucks, director of marketing sponsorships for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated. “Being able to connect with fans and students to talk about the wide portfolio of brands we offer that fit their lifestyles is invaluable to us. We are thrilled to support Tiger fans throughout the state.”
Director of Marketing for Greenville Health System Sally Foister said, “We’re not only excited about the Premier Partnership with Clemson athletics because of the increased exposure it brings to our healthcare system, but because Clemson University is the perfect partner for us.”
“We have found, in Clemson Athletics, a partner that shares our belief that healthy, active lifestyles are a cornerstone of well-being and we couldn’t be happier to continue our long standing partnership,” added Hucks.
Clemson Tiger Sports Properties oversees all aspects of Clemson’s comprehensive multimedia marketing rights agreement. Clemson Tiger Sports Properties is a joint venture of Learfield Sports and IMG College.
