Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher updated the rehab condition of star safety Derwin James during his Wednesday night call-in show via tallahassee.com.

"I wish and I hope so, but if I had to say, it would be a little bit early," Fisher said on James' return to action against Clemson. "I bet he's healed enough, but I don't know if they're going to let him. He's walking around pretty good, but I wouldn't expect so."

James has missed the last five games with a torn meniscus injury during the Charleston Southern game in which he was carted off the field. For the season in two games, he has 11 tackles and an interception.

A.J. Westbrook and Ermon Lane are two players expected to fill the shoes while James is out.
