Ellington shows his explosiveness vs. Raiders

Former Clemson standout and Arizona Cardinals running back Andre Ellington has been hampered by nagging foot and knee injuries the last few years but is currently as healthy as he has been in a long time.

His regained explosiveness was confirmed on Friday night against the Oakland Raiders in NFL preseason action as he had three carries for 41 yards including a five-yard touchdown run and an impressive 35-yard scamper.

"It’s nice to see him back on two feet and know how explosive he is," Bruce Arians said via arizonasports.com.

"But to see Dre really pull away and explode and see that explosiveness that he’s been struggling with for so long with the foot injury that he’s had and the knee injury he had last year," Arians said. "Just to see him kind of bounce one and see that speed again was good."

Ellington is eager to see what the future holds as he continues to try to support his team in whatever means possible.

"It made me feel good," Ellington said. "My job is to work my tail off every day and keep a smile on coach’s face like that. As long as I’m doing that, I know everything is good."
