ESPN puts Clemson on upset alert

ESPN has released its latest upset alerts on Tuesday afternoon and #5 Clemson (9-1, 6-1 ACC) is on the list with its Saturday night road game against Wake Forest (6-4, 3-3).

"We neglected to put the Tigers on Upset Watch last week and that was a big mistake," ESPN's Andrea Adelson said. "Consider it a lesson learned. Clemson has talked all week about the pressure being off, but the truth is -- there is more pressure now than ever before, because the Tigers cannot afford another loss. If they lose this game, Louisville makes the ACC championship game and their playoff hopes are dead. Wake Forest played Louisville tight for three quarters last week and presents major challenges that Clemson will have to overcome. Chief among them: Wake Forest leads the ACC in turnover margin, having gained 23 turnovers. The Achilles' heel for Clemson? Too many turnovers. The Tigers have given the ball away 21 times this season (six in the red zone), second-worst in the ACC."

This is the first time in school history that every Clemson away game has been at night for an entire season.

The Tigers can clinch the Atlantic Division crown with a victory over the Demon Deacons and are going for their seventh road night game win in a row dating back to 2014.

Wake Forest has been played well at home with a 4-1 record and is already bowl eligible.
