ESPN: Watkins front-runner for ACC ROY

There are literally dozens of true freshmen playing in the ACC this fall.

View Full Profile , who, after three games, should be a no-brainer as the front-runner for the ACC's Rookie of the Year award.

Last week against defending national champion Auburn, Watkins had 10 receptions for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Those were freshman single-game records in all three categories. It's still early, but check out his résumé:

Watkins leads the Tigers in receptions with 21 for 292 yards and four touchdowns.

He is tied for second in the ACC in receptions and is tied for the lead in touchdown receptions with four.

He has now scored at least one receiving touchdown in three straight games, and his four scores have already tied the Clemson freshman touchdown reception record.

Watkins is second in the ACC in catches per game with 7.0 and is fifth in yards per game with 97.3.
