Deshaun Watson was honored Wednesday as the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame's Collegiate Player of the Year, and he said during the press conference that he is set to graduate in December and will likely leave if the NFL wants him.
Clemson's dynamic sophomore signal caller was asked if he has contemplated that he might be preparing for the NFL Draft this time next year and he said yes. "It's a thought. It's a dream, but I have multiple goals. One of my goals before I even came to this school was to have my degree in three years and I'm on track to do that," Watson said. "I'm graduating in December, so if I have the opportunity to go to the NFL then I'm going to take it. I'll just have to see how everything plays out, but I still have the extra year and will have the opportunity to come back. Who knows what's going to happen. I'll let God control that and really just control what I can control." Watson completed 333-of-491 passes for 4,104 yards and 35 touchdowns and also had 207 rushes for 1,105 yards and 12 scores this past season. He became the first player in NCAA FBS history to throw for 4,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.
