is not retired after all. Late Saturday night Davis tweeted that he was headed back to Virginia but could not speak on the meeting he had set up for Sunday. According to Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network that meeting with the Redskins granted Davis a release and a chance to catch on with another team.

Looks like Redskins saga with "AWOL" RB James Davis will end shortly with his release. He's healthy and eager for opportunity elsewhere
