Clemson is ranked 3rd in the nation in the ESPN 2016 Football Power Index released on Tuesday.

ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team's performance for a season. FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is, and projected results are based on 10,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date, and the remaining schedule.

The top ten schools were Florida State, Alabama, Clemson, Michigan, and LSU, Ohio State, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Ole Miss according to the FPI.

Clemson has a projected win-loss record of 10.7 wins and 1.7 losses, 10.1% chance to win out, 26.4% chance to win the ACC and a strength of schedule of 53 overall.

ACC schools rankings according ESPN's FPI were Florida State (#1), Clemson (#3), Louisville (#11), North Carolina (#20), Miami (#23), Pittsburgh (#29), North Carolina State (#38), Georgia Tech (#46), Duke (#49), Boston College (#50), Virginia Tech (#52), Syracuse (#65), Wake Forest (#71), and Virginia (#88).
