Clemson ranked in Top 2 of Preseason Top 25 Poll |
Clemson is ranked #2 in
Sporting New's Top 25 preseason football poll behind only defending National Champions Alabama.
"Clemson lost the College Football Playoff championship game to Alabama last season, but it felt like a win in some ways given the outstanding play of Deshaun Watson," Sporting News said. "That alone puts Clemson on the short list of top offenses for 2016. The defense lost a few impact players to the NFL, and that’s the challenge for coach Dabo Swinney and defensive coordinator Brent Venables. Clemson’s schedule features road games at Auburn (in Week 1), Georgia Tech and Florida State." The Top 25 schools were Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Baylor, Florida State, Ole Miss, Michigan, Stanford, Notre Dame, Michigan State, LSU, Tennessee, Houston, USC, Oklahoma State, Iowa, North Carolina, Oregon, Georgia, Washington, Louisville, Arkansas, Texas and TCU.
