Clemson ranked #3 best ACC Town |
Clemson was ranked the third-best college town in the ACC on Wednesday according to an
expert poll (including TigerNet's David Hood) by Athlon Sports.
"How many towns are named after the university?," Athlon Sports' take on Clemson. "Formerly known as Calhoun, the town voted to change its name to Clemson in 1943. This represents all that is a small college town. The passion is what gives Clemson the best stadium in the league, the best gameday atmosphere and the most interwoven city. It's got great food joints and Lake Hartwell is always a good time. It's also a quick drive to three different states. Clemson got more first-place votes than any town not named Charlottesville." Charlottesville, Virginia and Chapel Hill, North Carolina were ranked as the top two college towns in the ACC. The worst ACC college town was... you guessed it.. Syracuse, New York.
