Clemson ranked #1 in scoring defense and yardage in October

Here is a breakdown of some defensive stats for the Clemson football team. Clemson's defense gave up only 9 points a game in October which is tops in the nation. They also held opponents to the lowest yardage amount in the nation at 212.8 yards per game.

Some other impressive stats include a nation's best third down defensive conversion rate at .230 percentage and a whopping 9.8 tackles for loss per game.

The Tigers are still ranked #2 in total defense, now behind Wisconsin after Saturday's slate of games. Wisconsin has given up 252.8 yards per game while Clemson is at 268.6 yards per game.

Clemson will have a chance to be the No. 1 total defense if they play a lights out game against Wake Forest on Thursday night.
