One thing we hear from recruiting fans across the country is the importance of keeping the best players at home. When recruiting a player from within the borders of your own state fans cry, "Players need to stay in-state. Take some pride in staying close to home." It is funny that you don't hear that wisdom when their school is recruiting out of state. One player who says he is looking outside of South Carolina first is J.C. Neal.

The Sumter, SC running back says, "Right now I really like N.C. State and Virginia Tech. They are recruiting me for offense and I want to play offense. I think I can play running back or wide receiver at those schools."

Neal had a terrific junior season as a running back. "I had 900 yards and 10 touchdowns last year but I will do better this season. I have a lot to prove."

The Lakewood High School star says offers are rolling in everyday. "Virginia Tech, Duke, Maryland, FSU, Vanderbilt, Iowa State, N.C. State, Clemson, USC, SC State and Auburn have offered. My top five is N.C. State, Virginia Tech, Duke, Maryland and FSU."

When it comes to the in-state schools Neal adds, "Coach Stockstill is recruiting me for USC and coach Swinney at Clemson but right now I think I may want to leave the state."
