Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney talked to the media on Monday night and said that Clemson true freshman offensive tackle Chandler Reeves suffered a serious knee injury on Saturday according to initial MRI tests.

"We only had one issue. Chandler Reeves, Saturday, doing a pass rush drill," Swinney said. "They think he tore his ACL, but we've got to confirm all of that. That was the initial deal. You never know until you get in there. When Byron Maxwell was here, they thought he tore his ACL and then when they got in there, it wasn't torn. The MRIs aren't always right or conclusive, but that's the initial thought is that he tore his ACL. I really hate that, but better to do it now than November. We'll get started on the rehab and get that young man back and he'll be better than ever."

Reeves will be able to redshirt this season as he will start on the rehab process.

He chose the Tigers over his other finalist Georgia Tech last year. Clemson offered on 6/10/15 while he was at the 2015 Dabo Swinney Football camp.

He had offers from Appalachian State, Army, California, Clemson, East Carolina, Florida Intl., Georgia Tech, Indiana, Maryland, Navy, South Florida, Syracuse and Troy.

In other Clemson injury news, Swinney said that senior defensive tackle Carlos Watkins practiced on Monday with a soft cast and will play against Auburn. Also, defensive back Marcus Edmonds was able to go through an individual workout.
