Clemson WR to rejoin team on Saturday |
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney spoke to the media on Saturday morning and shared that wide receiver
Artavis Scott missed the Media Day event and is currently at a funeral for his grandfather.
"Yeah, he's at a funeral this morning. His granddad passed away and he's actually a pall bearer in the funeral, so he'll hopefully be back for the team picture this afternoon," Swinney said. "He's great. Artavis is over from the Tarpon Springs area and just really has been an unbelievable player for us. Everybody talks about Deshaun but Artavis graduated in three years, too, and in three years he's the leading receiver in the history of Clemson. We all know there's been some great ones come through, but this young man is an incredibly underrated football player that has grown as a man and has a bright future." Scott has 73 receptions for 608 yards and five touchdowns this season. For his career, he has 242 catches for 2474 yards and 19 scores.
