Watson is currently #6 overall in ESPN's Heisman Watch

ESPN has released its latest article on Wednesday afternoon discussing the ACC's top ACC preseason quarterback rankings.

Clemson is ranked #2 behind Georgia Tech's quarterback duo of Justin Thomas and Tim Byerly.

Even though Clemson has a legitimate Heisman Candidate as a quarterback, the backups were also considered in the rankings.

at this point, but even as a true freshman playing with a torn ACL, he still thumped rival South Carolina last season," ESPN stated. "Project his numbers over the course of a complete season, and he’s a Heisman front-runner. If Watson can’t stay healthy though, Clemson’s QB situation is a major wild card."

Watson completed 67.9% of his passes for 1,466 yards (10.7 per attempt) and 14 touchdowns and only two interceptions and had a quarterback rating of 188.57 in his rookie campaign.

Other Clemson scholarship quarterbacks on the roster include redshirt junior Nick Schuessler and true freshmen Kelly Bryant and Tucker Israel.

Miami, North Carolina and Florida State round out the Top 5 ACC quarterback rankings.
