Clemson OL sprains his MCL, out against Louisville |
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney held his weekly press conference on Tuesday morning and said that starting center
Ryan Norton
Ryan Norton "Ryan Norton got rolled up in our inside period last night...literally the reason I was late was that I just got off the phone with Danny Poole because we did an MRI this morning on him," Swinney said. "Ya'll know he has been kinda banged up with his one knee, this is his good knee. All his ligaments looked good, but it looks like he has a really good sprain on his MCL so he is definitely gonna be out this game and reevaluate him next week. The encouraging news is that Norton will probably not need surgery or miss a bulk of the football season. "Right now, they do not think there will be any surgery that is needed or anything like that so that's a real positive for Ryan. Kinda a day-to-day and week-to-week type of deal so hopefully for the open date, he will hopefully not miss a lot of time. That's the only new update on the injury front." Jay Guillermo will now be the starter against Louisville and make his second career start at center.
