*Clemson’s senior class tied the school record for wins by a class today. This was the 40th win for Clemson’s seniors, tying the mark for the senior class of 1990. The 2014 seniors are now 40-11.The 1990 seniors were 40-8 off four consecutive 10-2 seasons.

*Other senior classes with at least 40 wins nationally as of 8 pm today are Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan State, Florida State, Oregon, Northern Illinois, Stanford and LSU. Boise State could join the 40-win club tonight.

*Clemson has now won 26 consecutive games vs. unranked opponents, the second longest streak in the nation behind Alabama, who won its 54th in a row against Western Carolina today.

*Today was the 25th win at home for this senior class and it establishes a Clemson record for wins at home by a senior group. Clemson’s senior are now 25-2 at home with the only losses to South Carolina in 2012 and Florida State in 2013. The previous high for wins was 24 by the seniors of 2012 and 2013.

*Dabo Swinney has established an ACC record for wins in the first seven years with a conference school. Today was Swinney’s 59th win, breaking the record of 58 wins by end of the seventh year by Jerry Claiborne of Maryland, who was 58-23-2 from 1972-78.

*Clemson is now 17-4 in its history on Military Appreciate Day.

Clemson Team Notes

*Clemson had four touchdowns today and three were scored by freshmen. The Tigers have 38 touchdowns for the year and 15 have been scored by freshmen.

*Clemson allowed just 40 yards rushing today, the seventh time this year Clemson has held a team under 100 yards rushing. Georgia State had just 155 yards of total offense today, fifth time this year an opponent has had under 200 yards of total offense.

*Clemson’s defense should move to number-one in the nation in total defense after today’s play. Wisconsin gave up 412 yards to Iowa today, while the Tigers gave up only 155 to Georgia State. In 11 games Clemson has given up 2776 yards, while Wisconsin has given up 2852. Penn State should be third at 2939.

*Clemson will continue to lead the nation in tackles for loss per game. Clemson had nine more today and now has 109 for the year, 10 per game. Clemson’s nine tackles for loss were recorded by nine different players. Clemson led the nation in that category last year.

*Clemson won the turnover margin today and is now 35-4 under Dabo Swinney when it wins the turnover margin. The Tigers are now 52-5 when Clemson wins the total offense statistics and 46-4 when Clemson has more first downs, including 35 straight wins over four years. The Tigers are also now 43-6 when winning the rushing stat under Swinney.

*Clemson had seven more three-and-outs today and now has 68 for the season. The Tigers should be third in the nation in that category entering next week.

recorded his ninth sack of the year and 30th of his career today. He already has the Clemson career record and is now in the top 10 in ACC history. Beasley now has at least one tackle for loss in every game this year and has a streak of 13 straight games over two years. He has 30 career sacks and 46.5 career tackles for loss, first among active FBS players.

*It took Tyson Dye just two games to have a 100-yard rushing game. The red-shirt freshman led the Tigers with 124 yards today, the most by a Clemson running back this season. The last Clemson back to have a 100-yard game within the first two games of his career was James DavisJames Davis
