Chad Kelly says LSU has the "real Death Valley" |
Former Clemson quarterback and current Ole Miss signal-caller
Chad Kelly took a thinly-veiled shot at his former school at SEC Media Days Thursday.
Ole Miss plays at LSU on Oct. 22nd, and Kelly was asked about playing at LSU,and he said he was excited to play in the "real Death Valley." "I'm excited to get down there to the real Death Valley," he said. "I'm anxious to get out there and play. My boy, (LSU quarterback) Brandon Harris, like to FaceTime me and show me this is the stadium I'm coming to. He better get ready because it is going to go down there." A reporter then asked: "You said the real Death Valley?" "The real Death Valley, yes sir," he replied. "The real Death Valley with 100,000 people. Yes sir." Kelly played for Clemson in 2013 and was 10-for-17 for 58 yards, but was dismissed following 2014 spring practice. He wound up at Ole Miss, and put up tremendous numbers for the Rebels last season, completing 298-458 for 4,042 yards, with 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Kelly was also asked if he was the best quarterback in the SEC. His response: "I'm the best quarterback in the nation."
