CBS analyst questions the toughness of Clemson's schedule |
Clemson is ranked #1 in the nation in the current College Football Playoff rankings and also #1 in the AP Poll that was released on Sunday afternoon.
National media pundits customarily will scrutinize some of the elite college football teams and try to discuss any weaknesses. CBS analyst Doug Gottlieb does not believe that Clemson's schedule is very demanding even though a Top 25 team would have a 6% chance of going 9-0 vs. Clemson's schedule according to ESPN's strength of record metric. Gottlieb tweeted the following on Sunday,"So Clemson plays 2 ranked teams all year, faces back-up QBS in both games at home and they have a tough schedule?" The Sagarin rating has Clemson rated #27th hardest schedule in the nation while several have had easier roads so far this college football season: Alabama (#5), Oklahoma (#58), Baylor (#89), Ohio State (#68), TCU (#37), Notre Dame (#16), Stanford (#31) and Oklahoma State (#61).
