Bruce Pearl on Auburn's defense: "So ready to bite Clemson's head off" |
Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl had a rousing motivational talk to the student body recently encouraging them to be loud for Saturday's night against #2 Clemson at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
"I have never seen a group of men train as hard as our football team has trained in this offseason," Pearl proclaimed. "I'm telling you. Our defense is so ready to bite Clemson's head off. I am telling you right now. Clemson will not go against a defense like the Auburn defense all year long." Pearl pleaded with the fanbase to make some noise so the ACC Tigers will get some crucial false start penalties during the game. "When Clemson is on offense, and this is a charge I got from Coach Malzahn, he said BP [Bruce Pearl], we need that stadium alive," Pearl said. We need our fans to bring their A game so what we got to do is when Clemson is on offense, especially on third down that they can not hear themselves. They have some young offensive tackles; they need to jump offsides. How many false starts can we cause on Saturday night? How many? We are in this together."
