Brett Favre on Watson: "He has all the tools"

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson was outstanding in leading his team to a National Championship on Monday night. Watson ended up completing 36 for 56 passes for 420 yards and three passing touchdowns against the tough Alabama defense. He also showed his dual-threat ability with 21 rushes for 43 yards and a rushing score.

Hall-of-Famer Brent Favre said on The SiriusXM Blitz on Monday that Watson has all the intangibles necessary to be an NFL quarterback.

Well, you know, this game is so much about winning, as it should be. You cannot argue the fact that that guy is a tremendous winner. A tough, just a tremendously tough [individual] – last night was a perfect example, he got hammered – first half, yeah it was OK, but he battled, man, he battled. I don’t know him personally but his character, his demeanor, the guys seem to love him, he has all the tools. Is he a first round pick? Hey, I’m no guru, but I think that’s the type of player you want on your team whether you draft him in the first or the fifth round.”
