Blossomgame impressive at NBA Combine on Friday

Clemson standout Jaron Blossomgame was in Chicago on Thursday and Friday attending the 2016 NBA Draft Combine.

"Blossomgame is another underclassman testing the waters. After a nondescript performance on Thursday, it looked like it might be in his best interest to return to Clemson for his senior season," ESPN.com's Chad Ford said. "However, he was much better on Friday, scoring 16 points, grabbing ten rebounds and shooting 3-for-3 from beyond the arc."

"Blossomgame has prototypical size for his position, he's a very good athlete, and he shot 45 percent from 3 as a junior and 15-for-25 from NBA 3 in the drills. In a draft where teams are desperately looking for shooters, I think Blossomgame may have a chance to crack the first round," Ford said.

Draftexpress.com had the following interesting take on Blossomgame after Friday's impressive performance.

"From what he reportedly told NBA teams during interviews, it's unlikely he will return to Clemson if he's assured an NBA roster spot next season," DraftExpress.com said. "With the recent premium we're seeing on multi-positional defending combo forwards in his mold, he looks to have done enough to show he's worthy of that."

He had the following physical measurables at the NBA event: 8' 6" standing reach, 6'10" wingspan, 6' 7.25" height with no shoes, 213.6 pounds, 5.25% body fat and 10-inch hand width.

Here are his impressive agility testing scores: 11.53 seconds in the lane agility, 3.20 seconds in the 3/4 court sprint, 35 inches in the standing vert, and a max vertical of 41 inches.

Blossomgame did not sign an agent, so he has the option to return to Clemson for his senior season if he chooses to. He has until May 25 to withdrawal from the NBA draft to retain his eligibility for next season.

He was named first-team All-ACC and Most Improved Player by the league’s head coaches and media last season. He averaged 18.6 points per game, the highest average by a Tiger since 2000-01. Blossomgame produced 16 games with at least 20 points, including three with at least 30.
