Ben Boulware's surprise defensive player

by - Staff Writer -

Ben Boulware met with the media Friday morning at the ACC Kickoff in Charlotte, North Carolina and was asked who would be the surprise player of the year on defense.

The senior linebacker's answer shouldn't surprise anyone, but Dexter Lawrence garnered high praise for more than one reason.

"He’s not going to surprise anybody, but Dexter Lawrence is an unreal player and is going to have an incredible career here," Boulware said of the freshman defensive tackle. "His size and speed, he’s a mammoth, freak athlete. For his size, he runs a 4.8. He’s very mature for how young he is. He knows he has a lot to do, but that’s okay. Dexter is very shy but he’s always very mature. He’s a great player and he’s going to have a great freshman season."
